Catamaran Cold Remedy

Eyes watering, nose running, and having an occasional sneeze- I knew I had a cold !

But what do you do when you’re on a Gemini catamaran tied to the dock in winter North Carolina weather?

First, I convalesced for 18 hours by staying away from everyone but Diann.  Our bed has an electric heating mattress pad. (Now that’s one heck of a good way to get cuddled while feeling like manure from goats.)

Today, around 2pm, I decided to walk our Pomeranian girl dog, Zoey.  AND, stop by the ABC store in the process.

I know…… bourbon and lemon juice and honey …. are traditional ingredients for a cough remedy.    BUT…I didn’t have a lot of coughing.  Nor did I have lemon juice on board.

When AAA is not available, I honor Daddy Jake and pick up a bottle of Evan Williams. Jake could have bought the whole store, but chose to drink one of the modest priced bourbons. He is truly missed by those who knew his humor.

My solution……….Maple syrup ½ ounce.  Evan Williams (cheap)  bourbon 1 ½ ounces.  Mix in tall shot glass.  Sip slowly.

Enjoy the warm glow.
