While serving as Captain on the Aerie Ferry Tour Boat, here in New Bern NC, I’m often asked about a good seafood restaurant.
Diann and I have discovered the Carolina Grill which is at 998 Hwy 70 East just off the bridge as you head toward Morehead City.
We visited just before the Christmas holiday and so the décor fit the season.
Flat out, the $20.99 “three selection” fried seafood platter was as good a value as one might expect. There were more than a dozen fried oysters; more than six scallops and more than six medium sized shrimp. The slaw was great! I ate more than I should have- but wasn’t able to keep what could have been left-overs.
Diann felt that her pork chops were good.
So, until I find a better place for a traditional fried seafood meal, I’ll be sending tour passengers to the Carolina Grill.
