Delta Anchor Preventer Loop- Nov 4th 2014

Monday activities included writing the weekly real estate feature for The Hickory Dailey Record, a task I have performed every week for over 18 years. It remains fun to assist folks promote their property.

Tasks number two and three were: organize the storage bin to confirm what items will be added to the boat supplies; and the fabrication of a loop to prevent Yacht A Fun’s anchor from being able to jump off the bow roller.

Creating a preventer loop was necessary to prevent a large wave from being able to uplift the anchor off its bow-roller. If lifted off the roller, the anchor would then be free to swing under the Gemini catamaran’s bridge deck and do serious damage.

The loop was made from repurposed aluminum straps originally used on a auto-billboard system. The loop’s initial test will be in the deployment and retrieval of the Delta 35 pound anchor. Will the loop and anchor shank come in contact?

Diann wanted a “good” dinner. We enjoyed chicken breast fillets sautéed in butter and orange zest, with a parsley and garlic pesto over angel hair pasta.
