Leaving St. Augustine was easy.
Abby B had left before us.
Later in the day we stopped for fuel and guess who was at the same marina! Rumor has it that one of the two dogs was sick and needed off the boat.
Tonight we’ve stopped in Daytona Beach and are enjoying the Halifax River Yacht Club facility.
Many of the boats are lighted for the holiday. If we weren’t headed to CocoNut Grove for Christmas, we might stay here another day and explore the old section of town. Another trip, perhaps.
With no anchor to pull in the morning we should be able to get away quickly and again make good mileage down the ICW.
It is such a trade off to enjoy the solitude of anchoring vs. having a mooring / dock to base from. Boats typically don’t carry enough fresh water for luxurious hot showers. The long hot showers at a facility are a real treat.
