Catamaran Family Break- Baking

Christmas 2015 YachtAFun was moored at Dinner Key in Coconut Grove, FL.  Diann and I returned to North Carolina that following January to attend our gift exchange (and to pick up our Jeep for ground transport).

With family spread out across a nine hour driving span, we typically gather after Christmas to do gift exchanges.  That system allows our children’s families to have Christmas in their own homes and visit other relatives in close proximity.

So, having remained at Southport NC  winter 2016, Diann and I left our Gemini sailing catamaran in mid January to see all of our immediate family in one spot.  However, the winter storm nixed the gathering.  Meanwhile, however, we got to spend a week with oldest daughter / youngest grandchild.

Baking yeast bread is a personal passion.  Our youngest granddaughter loves helping in the kitchen.  Together we mixed bread dough, made round-rolls; snake-rolls, and a turtle-roll.

By making the effort to spend time with the kids, off our boat, we expand their horizons to think about life “outside of the box”.  And…………. we add value to our own life experience as well.
