The month of May was one of great activity. Unfortunately my Verizon cell-phone hotspot does not have enough ump to open our catamaran ‘s blog site for uploads. We enjoyed more docks on the way back than during the way down. We were able to enjoy the Eau Gallie Yacht Club facility and cool off in their pool.
Getting to wifi during our travel from Marathon Fl to Southport SC was just not conveniently doable. Hence the long hiatus from a blog post.
To those who enjoy reading about what goes on with Yacht A Fun, I apologize for the delay.
Long days and fair weather worked to create a smooth trip- for the most part. There were events however-
we clogged our cooling system with sea grass at Islamorada;
had wind issues lasting two days;
lost our steering system at St. Augustine; and
had a 36 hour ocean adventure when NOAA’s forecast turned out to be “off”.
But we got back to North Carolina in half the days it took to get to Miami! Our Gemini catamaran crew likes long warm days.
Salty Sailor, crewmember, David Corbett, knew of Bird Island at Little River Inlet (near Myrtle Beach SC) so we anchored there to be ready for an off shore final to our trip destination of SouthPort NC.
Note the breakers just north of the Cape Fear inlet. Think “Frying Pan Shoals”!
Bald Head Island’s light house…..
The Harbor master’s office at Deep Point Marina….
AND our own summer swimming pool!
As I can work thru the past month’s photos, I’ll post more of the adventure. Meanwhile, happy summer to all…………=

Glad you have made it back. And in half the time of the trip down. Even with the repair.
