Wednesday Dec 5th we arrived in Beaufort, SC. Since we stayed on a mooring ball, we were able to test the dinghy for the first time since the carburetor overhaul. It started on first crank.
We made three trips back to the docks that day. First we took Zoey for a walk. Then we went to the showers. And on the third trip we walked the restaurant scene.
Old Bull Tavern has become popular. It has very subdued lighting in the bar / dining area. There we had a couple of drinks.
Emily’s remains our favorite restaurant in Beaufort. We were able to sit at the very table at which we dined in November of 2014. On that visit it had been so cold that I used a couple of candles to warm my hands before dinner!

We wanted to enjoy Beaufort, instead of stopping for just one night. So, we borrowed the marina car for a trip for groceries. We then took Zoey for a dog-walk. We found Hemmingway’s to be dog friendly and so had a nice slow afternoon drink with a view of an American Cruise Lines vessel tied at the docks.
On our second evening we had nachos at Luther’s and went on to listen to jazz at Panini’s.
For those doing the ICW, Beaufort SC should not be overlooked.
