Having had dinner on board Yacht A Fun, our Gemini catamaran, I was ready to head into New Bern for some “action”.
Over the Cunningham draw bridge, the full Hunter’s Moon made walking B Dock look like a dim afternoon stroll. Stopping at the top of the ramp, I took in a deep breath as I gazed upon the moon’s glow. Action number 1 was complete.
What to do next?
As I strolled, I kept my ear’s attention to music venues. Nothing was heard on Middle Street in the area of the wine bar and MJ’s restaurant.
Dessert, I could have a special dessert as Action number 2 !
Middle Street’s Bay Leaf is one of the best Indian restaurant’s in North Carolina. That has been verified by the NC Public Broadcasting food review a couple of years back.
My selections ranged from a carrot pudding to simple Key Lime pie. My waiter suggested Mango Kulfi- thickened milk ice cream with mango. I’m glad for the suggestion. Next time though, I’ll try the Carrot Halwa ( carrot pudding with cardamom and saffron ).
And then I strolled to the Brown Pelican, where a great band was playing…………….Action # 3 !
